Community Work

PLAY & FITNESS SCHEME
The King’s House organizes and hosts a ‘Play & Fitness Schemes’ each year. The Scheme brings together up to 90 children between the ages of 6 and 12 to play, sing, dance, exercise, do sports and arts & craft, etc. for 2 weeks at a time. The programme ends with an evening performance and children are awarded medals and certificates for their contribution to the events.

COMMUNITY FAMILY FUNFAIR
The King’s House hosts a Community Family Funfair in the Summer. It is attended by up to 200 families from the Church and Community. This outreach event features a barbecue, games, Carousel, Sumo wrestling, bouncy castles, face painting, clowns and lots of food and fun.

CANCER RESEARCH FUNDRAISING
A Cancer Research Fundraising Dinner is held annually in support of the Nightingale Hospice that looks after and support cancer patients. All the money raised plus a donation from the Trust is given to the Hospice.

HIV AWARENESS INITIATIVE
The King’s House helps to organize and run an HIV Awareness Initiative. This initiative serves as a forum to help meet the emotional, practical and spiritual needs of HIV and AIDS sufferers and their carers.

FOOTBALL ACADEMY
During the football season, the King's House organises 8-10 weeks of football training for young people in the Community. FA Accredited Coaches help the youngstars to develop personal discipline and relevant footballing skills. Tournaments are played and trophies are awarded to deserving young people and teams.

TALENT SHOW & THE BLAZE
These are two community youth events that are designed to challenge the youth to follow the ‘straight and narrow path’, to be positive influences to their peers, and to use their gifts and talents to glorify God at home and in school. Music, dance and drama are the main tools used during these events.

NO STRINGS ATTACHED
The purpose of this annual mission is to share the love of Jesus with our neighbours by giving them hampers and gifts at Christmas with no strings attached. Hampers are distributed to our neighbours, the local Hospice, Care Homes, Halfway Homes, hospitals and to Lone Parents and their children.

GOSPEL FESTIVAL
The Gospel Festival is an outreach initiative of the King’s House which involves other Churches and guest singers in London coming together to celebrate and proclaim Jesus through Gospel Music, dance, choreography etc. If your Church or group is interested in performing please call the office.
